PhotoFit® Instructions

While we have thousands of templates ready, we may need a Photofit image of your bike to ensure a perfect fit. Please take your Photofit image following these instructions.

Photo should be 10-12ft away,  level with the frame, bolts exposed, with both wheels visible. If you only have the frame, get low enough to be level with the triangle and back up 10-12 ft away. **Include water bottle(s) for half framebags & wedges.**  This helps us bring the bag about 1/2″ from your bottles. See example Photofit images here.

Choose ECOPAK if...
Choose ECOPAK if using recycled fabrics with a non-toxic FC-free coating is important to you. ECOPAK also contains the largest color selection of fluorocarbon free, recycled fabrics at an economical price.
ECOPAK vs. X-Pac
Both use a laminate construction for a durable, lightweight fabric. X-PAC's direct compition with ECOPAK is their recycled RX-Line. Both ECOPAK and X-PAC's RX fabrics have the benefit of using a 100% recycled polyester face and fabrics are fluorocarbon-free. Beside specific colors, a large differenciator is that X-PAC's recycled RX-Line is processed, spun, and laminated in the USA while ECOPAK fabric is processed in Asia.

In general, we offer brighter colors with ECOPAK, and more neutral, earth tones with X-Pac. X-Pac also has more options for heavier weight but higher durability such as their X50 Tactical and standard X50 fabrics.

Choose Ultra-PE if...
you're looking for high performance fabrics made to maximize durability while minimizing weight.

Dyneema and Ultra-200 offer unparalleled strength at ultralight weights. Ultra-400 and Ultra VX-40 are the most durability pack fabrics available for bikepacking.

ECOPAKâ„¢ FABRIC by Challenge Sailcloth

Waterproof, durable, laminated fabric with 100% recycled polyester. Every yard of ECOPAKâ„¢ uses about 20 plastic bottles and saves one pound of carbon emissions compared to standard fabric. All our ECOPAK fabric uses a fluorocarbon free coating.

X-PAC® Fabric Swatches & Differences

X-Pac® laminates allows multiple layers, each with different beneficial properties including the use of 500d CORDURA® for all X50 fabrics. These waterproof, durable, lightweight fabrics are made in eco-friendly facilities in the USA and Germany.

RX-Line

Our greenest fabric yet. The RX-line is USA-made, 100% climate neutral and contains 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric with a FC-free (no fluorocarbon water repellent coating). The Sea Green VX-21 is made from discarded fishing nets.

The RX supply chain; from bottles to bags; occurs in the Carolinas and Connecticut. Combined with being recycled and Fluorocarbon-free this gives the smallest carbon footprint out of any of our fabrics.

Cotton Duck

X10, X11 Cotton Duck consists of a natural cotton outer face (Fluorocarbon-free) with a black X-Ply® inner sandwiched by a waterproof polyester film backing.

The waterproof backing means there is no need to wax the outer cotton. It has a stiffer body than any of the traditional X-Pac offerings and weighs slightly more.

X50 Tactical and X50

X50 Tactical is X-Pac's rugged and enhanced laminate that features a 500d CORDURA® mil-spec fabric with a 400d aramid X-PLY® which is lighter, stronger, and more abrasion-resistant.

All other X50 fabrics feature a 500d CORDURA® face but with their standard recycled polyester X-PLY®

LiteSkin, VX21

VX21 Black is the "standard" weight used for bikepacking gear. Liteskin 21 and 42 are a "lightweight" options with weight close to VX21 but higher durability (but not as high as X50). Liteskin 21 is lighter than 42.

Choose X50 if...

you want a technical lightweight fabric with exceptional abrasion resistance, low stretch, and durable waterproofness. Higher weight fabrics such as X50 have a thicker CORDURA® layer which gives increased durability and abrasion resistance.

¤ Waterproof

¤ Stiffer body, durable

Ultra-PE Fabrics

These fabric are made with an advanced polymer; Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). This unique polymer creates ultralight fabrics with unparalleled strength and durability.

We carry the best Ultra-PE fabrics in the industry, including Dyneema, Ultra-200/400, and Ultra-VX40.

Dyneema Framebag
Choose Dyneema if...
you're looking for the absolute lightest fabric possible for a framebag (the 2.92 variant).

2.92 ultralight weight comes at the expense of abrasion resistance. We only recommend the 2.92 if you understand the limitation of this fabric and take care of your gear. If you like the look of dyneema but want a more "set it and forget it" framebag then pick the slightly heavier 5.0 variant.

  • Fabric Made in USA

Dyneema® Composite Fabrics (DCF)

A shiny non-woven composite laminate which is reinforced with Dyneema® fibers mated to a matte polyester backing.

Core Benefits:

  • Lightest option for sewn bags
  • Dyneema won't absorb water in rain
  • Unique, flashy patena
Choose Ultra 200/400 if...
you're looking for the best balance between ultralight and high abrasion resistance.

The lighter 200 variant is more abrasion resistant than the 2.92 Dyneema but still considered "ultralight". The 400 variant adds significantly better abrasion resistance at the expense of a little more weight.

In our opinion this 400 variant is one of the most durable yet ultralight pack fabrics available.

  • Fabric Made in Asia
  • PFAS-free finish

Ecopak® Ultra 200/400

A mix of woven Ultra-PE and Polyester, laminated to a polyester film.

Core Benefits:

  • Highest abrasion resistance in its weight class
  • Exceptional stitch retention and overall durability
  • Available in white, black, grey, navy
Choose Ultra VX-40 if...
you value durability over ultralight. While this is the heaviest of our Ultra-PE fabrics it has maybe the best abrasion and cut resistance of the group.

  • Fabric Made in Germany and USA
  • PFAS-free finish

X-Pac® Ultra VX-40

Similar to Ecopak's Ultra series this is a mix of a shiny woven Ultra-PE and Polyester laminated to a polyester film. One of the first fabrics to weave Ultra-PE into a traditional fabric base.

Core Benefits:

  • High abrasion resistance
  • Exceptional stitch retention and overall durability

A stiff plastic base of the framebag is bolted to your frames water bottle bolts. We can bolt your down tube, top tube, or seat tube all from your photofit image. The bolt holes are slotted to allow for a perfect fit and are gaurenteed to match up to your bolt patt

erns. Bolts and washers are included in your order.

PRO: Eliminates velcro straps that interfere with water bottle bolts on the underside of your downtube. Also creates a clean look and solid anchor.

CON: Takes more time to take the framebag on and off the bike.

The map pocket is positioned on the non-drive side and is a full length pocket with no depth. Perfect for small, flat objects such as maps. Internal sleeves exist inside the map pocket for framebags with enough space. A channel also exists to connect the map pocket to the drive side to allow electronic cords to pass through.

The horizontal divider has a zipper entry positioned on the drive-side. There is a removable velcro divider that creates a horizontal partition when in place. When opened up, you have full access to the entire bag from the top zipper entry.

Lace-up connection to your top-tube. Standard cord color is black.

PRO: Creates a solid, distributed frame connection. Less abrasive to your frame's paint than velcro.

CON: More time consuming to install/remove framebag compared to velcro.

Rockgeist Lace up framebag

Make the most of your packing space with a flared front end. The flared nose is built 4.75" wide at its peak with a variable 1" velcro connection on top, a hydration port at the point, and a 2" one-wrap velcro connection connecting to your down tube.

Hang loops consist of a "sleeve" with a daisy chain under your top tube. A pump can live behind the sleeve leaving One-wrap velcro straps to wrap other objects such as tent poles. The Velcro straps are removable to free up space when not in use. This arrangement helps prevent clutter from building up at the bottom of your bag.

A durable hypalon flap covers your zipper to deflect rain and snow from entering through your zipper teeth. If selected, we will cover all zippers on the bag.

Zipper Storm Guard framebag

A discrete pocket sewn to the inside spine of your framebag. Meant to contain your Apple Air Tag or similar GPS tracking chips. Used to help find your bike in case of theft while out bikepacking.

Air tag pocket framebag

This pocket is made from stretch mesh woven with Ultra-PE fibers. This creates one of the most durable mesh fabrics on the market. Default position is on the non-drive side panel, in the front half of the bag closest to the stem area.

Typically this pocket is used to carry trash and other small items.
