BarJam Harness 2.0

(8 customer reviews)

$185.00$205.00

Protect your cables, rip your descents. The BarJam is a lightweight, exceptionally stable bikepacking harness that protects your brake, shifter, and dropper cables. The 2.0 version of this harness increased the strength of the brackets to an ultimate load of 728 lbf! (without breaking, brackets rotated on handlebar instead).

Designed to excel on rough singletrack the machined 6061 aluminum bolt-on brackets extend your drybag out and downwards, past your cables. Voile straps are used for a reliable and slip-free way to secure your dry bag against the carbon fiber bar.

Complete system includes carbon fiber bar (made in USA), sewn harness at Rockgeist, and North Carolina machined 6061 aluminum brackets for both 31.8 and 35.0 mm handlebar diameters. Choose between 25" Voile straps for dry bags less than 9 liters, or 32" Voile straps for larger dry bags. Pair the BarJam with the Horton Front Pouch for maximum carrying capacity. To purchase the harness for Jones H-bars or Surly Moloko bars see our Loop Bar Harness version here.

Barjam Harness Mounting Instructions

The Barjam harness is a stable and versatile harness that works with any bike from road to full suspension bikes. The main mounting difference is how the rubber Voile straps and center webbing strap connect to the bike. Please see the illustrations below for the three options that best fits your fork and frame style.

Please be sure to order the correct clamp diameter for your handlebar (this is the same diameter that your stem clamps). 35 mm diameters bars are most commonly found on newer full suspension or hard tail bikes.

I’ve had my BarJam Harness 2.0 for nearly two years and have taken this on 5-6 trips on a few different bikes. It’s super versatile and easy to setup, regardless of your cockpit and bar configuration. It’s nice and lightweight, so you get the added functionality without the weight penalty. I’m looking forward to using this some more on future bikepacking trips!

What’s a good size compression dry bag to use with the bar harness?

    • Gregory

Hey Jessica! an 8 Liter with 25″ straps or 13 Liter with 32″ Voile straps works great!

      cheers
      greg

I’ve only had it for a week but initially I’m really happy. I did a 20 mile shake down ride and the pack is very stable with 10-12 pound in it even when I get excited and my tires leave the ground. I’ll be back for a longer term update in a year or two. I’d also like to mention great service and communication from Greg the owner/founder.

I have been using the Barjam Harness since December 2018. It is wonderful. This harness has the ability to hold a 5lbs. sleeping bag securely to the bike without crushing cables and negatively affecting shifting or braking. There is absolutely no bouncing or swaying up front no matter how rugged the terrain. I used the Barjam during the Susitna 100 mile race this season and am amazed at how well it functioned. I look forward to seeing how it performs with a tent secured to it during my upcoming trip on the GDMBR. If you need to secure a load to the front of your rig, then go with confidence and get a Barjam. Add the Apogee Feedbag and you will love it. The Barjam is also a great spot to secure a wristwatch or GPS device so it is in plain view (especially great while your hands and wrists are inside of pogies).

Just completed my first overnight outing with the barjam harness on my gravel bike. I found the harness very versatile and easy to set up. I was able to strap my sleeping bag and sleeping pad using the harness with two volle straps. The setup was very stable on both gravel and easy single track, there was minimal movement even though my bike had no suspension. The quality seems very high, I would recommend this product.

The barjam is the most versatile harness I have used. Rock solid and craftsmanship is first rate. Also just leave the bolt on bar attached and you can strap on fly rods or anything else you can think of. Don’t tell Greg but other companies handlebar bags work with it also.

I have just used the new Barjam harness on a quick winter solstice overnight. I have been looking for a new handlebar system for my bike that works with Jones bars and I am happy to say I have found it. Easy to install and easy to use the new Barjam provides a super stable system with absolutely no movement. I really like how quickly you can attach it detach your dry bag. For me this setup is a game changer. Support from Greg is fantastic. I’ll definitely be looking at Rockgeist when shopping for more bike bags. Thanks Greg for a great product.
