The Armadillo dry bag protector prevents holes from wearing through your dry bag while bikepacking. It offers the flexibility to wrap around any dry bag and cover the contact points between your bag and your frame or rack. Whenever your dry bag is strapped directly to your bike, there is potential for abrasion that can wear small holes, leaving you with wet gear during rains. After looking at our dry bags covered in duct tape repairs, we wanted a simple way to stop the holes from forming. The Armadillo Dry Bag Protector will take all the abuse you can throw at it, shielding your dry bag from dirt and abrasion, keeping your dry bag waterproof. Pairs well with our Argonaut Dyneema Dry Bag.
While we tested a few more intricate designs, the simplicity of this design won out. Just throw your dry bag under the elastic and let the Armadillo conform to the curves of your dry bag. When mounted with your favorite Voile straps, the elastic cords are a great place to store your rain jacket, sandals, sleeping pad, or anything else that you'd like quick access to.

I recently picked up the Ultra PE Dry Bag to use on a few bikepacking trips this past summer in the PNW. Like others, I have different mounting options across my bikes, so the Ultra PE Dry Bag works well with my front rack (a Tumbleweed T-Rack). I purchased the Armadillo Dry Bag Protector as well, for the added protection against the off-road riding. This added protection is a great add-on to the Ultra PE Dry Bag (or really any dry bag you’d want to use).

I use a rack and dry bag due to poor saddle/tire clearance. After my last tour my dry bag had a hole in it. I was going to build something similar out of coroplast, but then I saw this and bought one right away. I just used it to hold my tent to my rack and it’s fantastic. I love the elastic cordage for storage too. Not a single issue after a really bumpy gravel tour!
