Bikepacking Maps of Western NC

$14.50

Discover why The Pisgah National Forest is the second most visited national forest in the country.

Category:

These maps cover some of the most popular singletracks, gravel grinds, and hiking vistas of Western North Carolina. Made locally by Pisgah Map Company who donate a portion of map proceeds towards local trail maintenance.

Pisgah Ranger District: The Ranger District is part of South Pisgah and contains much of the wild and isolated singletrack The Pisgah is known for. Great singletracks include Black Mountain, South Mills River, Laurel Mountain, and many more. This map also covers some of the most popular Blue Ridge Parkway destinations including the Devil’s Courthouse, Graveyard Fields, and Mount Pisgah. Looking Glass Rock and Sliding Rock add to the major highlights in this area. Happy exploring.

Grandfather Ranger District: Includes Mt. Mitchell, the tallest mountain East of the Mississippi and Linville Gorge, the Grand Canyon of the East. Trails such as Kitsuma and Heartbreak Ridge prove that the singletrack up here is just as good as in South Pisgah, but these trails are notoriously not as well marked (bring the map!). This area is also perfect for loading up the gravel bike for grinding out miles on the isolated fire roads. When camping in this area be wary of the Brown Mountain Lights. If you’re not familiar with these lights then it’s recommended to watch the documentary “Alien Abduction” before heading out…

French Broad Region: One of the newer maps to Pisgah Map Co, the French Broad Region covers the public land just North of our workshop, outside of downtown Asheville. Highlights include fire roads/trails in the Great Smokies, Max Patch, the Appalachian Trail, and of course the rivers; the French Broad, Nolichucky and Pigeon.
